So sweet, right? My mom and dad went to the Little House on the Prairie in Peppin, Wisconsin. They said they had lots of fun and really enjoyed their road trip. Good thing half-pint ( Laura Ingalls-Wilder) wasn't around to sick her first dog on them, "Jack". Can you imagine a whole family lived in this house? As Laura wrote she remembers her days fondley in the big woods of Wisconsin.
If a tree falls and no one is around, does it make a sound?
See this big tree? This last Friday (6-29-12) we had to have a professional tree service come over and take down this grand old tree. Wendy and I were so sad, because it provided so much shade and beauty to the property. Unfortunately it was a bit too close to the house and one year ago two large branches came down and smashed up our gutters and one of our vehicles during a storm. At least we both got to say good bye.

Seven Layer Bars...Yummy
I am making Seven Layer Bars tonight. Here is what the recipe looks like before it goes into the oven. If you need a reminder of the recipe, well here it is:
1/2 cup melted butter
1 1/2 cups finely crushed Graham crackers
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 1/3 cups flaked and sweetened coconut
1/2 cup walnut pieces
1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk
Melt butter; stir into cracker crumbs. Press into a 13x9x2 un-greased pan.
Layer all chips, then coconut flakes, then walnut pieces. Finally top evenly with the sweetened condensed milk and pop into a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes. Cool, cut and enjoy! Makes about 30 bars or two really really big ones, haha just kidding!
