Seven Layer Bars...Yummy

I am making Seven Layer Bars tonight. Here is what the recipe looks like before it goes into the oven. If you need a reminder of the recipe, well here it is:

1/2 cup melted butter
1 1/2 cups finely crushed Graham crackers
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 1/3 cups flaked and sweetened coconut
1/2 cup walnut pieces
1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk

Melt butter; stir into cracker crumbs. Press into a 13x9x2 un-greased pan.
Layer all chips, then coconut flakes, then walnut pieces. Finally top evenly with the sweetened condensed milk and pop into a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes. Cool, cut and enjoy! Makes about 30 bars or two really really big ones, haha just kidding!

Mama kitty's crows nest.

Our oldest cat we lovingly named Mama kitty has a new favorite napping spot. It's on the flannel kitty bed on top of the refrigerator.
She certainly is the queen of this house!

The Little Red School House...

December 2011 second snow storm. We repainted the red school house this summer. This school is about 140 years old. Kinda pretty for an old Betty?

All things Swedish...

Ahh, the Swedish flag.

Lately I have been obsessed with the 1/3 of my Swedish heritage.
I enjoy looking up recipes, chefs and the culture of Sweden.
I hope someday to visit this beautiful country and see where my ancestors came from.
In everything I have watched and looked up on the Internet, it already feels like home.
